Mungo Lisburn Linen Table Runner / 62cm x 300cm - Navy

The Lisburn Linen table runner is inspired by antique French sacking material. The natural base colour is accentuated with a Navy stripe detail that runs the length of the table runner. In 19th century France, grain sacks were often hand woven and homespun out of a thick, durable fibre like linen or hemp.

The Lisburn Linen Table Runner is woven at the Mungo Mill with a cotton weft and linen warp on their refurbished 1960s Ruti shuttle looms. One of the key characteristics that differentiates the vintage shuttle looms from more modern weaving machinery is their ability to weave a true selvedge (a self-finished edge that prevents the fabric from fraying or unraveling). The selvedge is an iconic feature on the Lisburn Linen Table Runner and it has been left exposed on the table runner as an aesthetic detail.
